As TDN’s president/senior agent, Jeff Lewis has a ‘simple’ job. He curates a roster of the best freelance directors and DOP’s available on the market. He finds job opportunities, handles bookings and works to enhance the careers of those artists. He services and builds solid relationships with the production community, ad agencies and brands. All this he does to maintain TDN as the gold standard talent agency of freelance directors and DOP’s. And, he does it with style, with energy and a doggedness that comes from two decades of production work with top production companies, e.g. RSA, Smuggler, MJZ and Anonymous Content. During that time, he worked with directors such as Spike Jonze, Sam Bayer, Paul Hunter, Tom Kuntz and Jonas Akerlund to name a few.
In 2006, Jeff joined his father, Steve Lewis, who pioneered the freelance director agency in 1985. Since then, Jeff has extended the company’s reach into new markets, providing directorial talent not only to its production house clients, but also to agencies and brands who seek new solutions in the evolving advertising market. He’s continued to make TDN a magnet for filmmakers, veterans and new talent alike, who seek a more proactive way to get job opportunities.
To Jeff, service is everything. He is a natural problem-solver. He believes in nurturing the talented men and women on his roster. He believes his clients deserve fair negotiations, transparent agreements and an attention to detail that keeps their work to a minimum. Those aims and Jeff’s hard work have garnered TDN’s roster work with a Who’s Who of top brands, such as Ford, Verizon, Bank of America, Calvin Klein, Humira, Honda, Google, Comcast, Kohls, Allegra and many others. But the past is prologue, and Jeff feels that the best is yet to come.
A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she majored in Dramatic Writing, Abby brings a storyteller’s mindset to her position at The Directors Network. She got her chops collaborating with directors, actors and producers throughout her career and also wrote for a wide range of publications, non-profits and other industry-related companies. In addition to working closely with TDN President Jeff Lewis as an agent, Abby has her finger on the pulse of the industry, leading TDN’s social media, marketing and communications strategy. Socially conscious, highly organized and full of enthusiasm, she brings her own special touch to every project.
